chatsworth house and bakewell

13 July 2012

These photos were taken a couple of weeks ago when my new camera was brand new. I wish I could tell you that I understand how to use it a bit better now but no I'm still using it on automatic mode! And still clueless about photo editing oops!

It was such a lovely day that day, we walked to Chatsworth House from Bakewell which we discovered is just a 45minute bus ride from us. Not included in these photos was the amazing Bakewell pudding we bought and devoured. So much better than the nasty Bakewell tarts you buy in shops - the real thing doesn't have an inch thick layer of too-sweet icing on top. Just yummy almondy goodness.

We couldn't believe our luck when we saw the deer. Believe it or not I've never actually seen a deer up close before, the only time I've seen one is in a flash as they run across country roads when you're in the car. These were so cute and really tame, made me want to watch Bambi again!

The last couple of photos were taken of a little village in the Chatsworth Estate called Edensor. After watching a documentary about Chatsworth House on the bbc not so long ago I was really keen to take a little wander round the village as it looked so pretty. Even though it was raining it didn't disappoint - love the bunting and the home-made goodies.

I'll be posting some photos from our trip to Wales soon.

John Freida hair care products (thinking of doing a hair care routine post soon).

No 7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Balm, Barry M Nail Paint in Nude, Orly Nail Varnish in Basket Case,
Natural Collection mascara and lipstick, No 7 Stay Perfect Foundation.

How cute is this bag? Perfect for packed lunches at work or little picnics.

New studded jumper from Glamorous (bought in Ark). Love it!

Just a little splurge in town, felt like I hadn't treated myself in a little while (but in reality it's probably just been a matter of days).
I especially love the new jumper - definitely taking it to Leeds Fest with me, it'll look great with some denim shorts and wellies.
Ciao for now,

delicious low calorie pizzas

10 July 2012

As I'm sure I've mentioned before, I'm pretty much constantly on a weight-loss mission (obviously I have my slips now and then otherwise I'd definitely be at my goal weight by now!). I'm always on the look out for ways I can treat myself for fewer calories than usual.

When I saw the Warburtons sandwich thins I wondered what they'd be like as pizza bases and they turned out to be great. Normally when I make home-made pizza, I make my own topping but for the sake of speed this time I used a jar of pasta sauce.

Ingredients
Warburtons Sandwich thins
Jar of pasta sauce or homemade topping (you'll only need a few spoonfuls)
Low fat mozzarella

1. First, lay out your sandwich thins on a grill-pan.

 2. Spread out your sauce

3. Slice your mozzarella

4. Distribute it evenly between the pizzas

5. Grill the pizzas for roughly 10 minutes

6. Serve with salad if your feeling healthy.

Each pizza contains roughly 100 calories. I had 3 so with salad it was around 340 calories.

Bon Appetite!

Sorry I haven't blogged for a while, I went away to Wales with my parents and fiance and there was no wifi or 3G signal either (I don't know how I coped!). It rained the WHOLE time we were there but there was a lovely log fire in the cottage so it felt more like a winter holiday than a July holiday! Anyway, we still relaxed and that's what I needed. I should be posting a bit more from now on, I took lots of photos in Wales with the new camera so I'll probably be posting some of those. Here's the ups and downs from the last fortnight :)

Ups

+ While we were in Wales we walked up Snowdon which I've been wanting to do for ages.

+ Alex has his first interview for a graduate job. Eek!

+ Less than 2 weeks to go working at the nursery.

+ My appointment for my consultation for a dental operation finally came through so hopefully the ball will start rolling and I'll be a step closer to getting my braces on (and therefore off!).

+ The wet weather in Wales did leave me plenty of time to get some reading done. I succumbed to the 50 shades hype and am already half way through the 3rd book! They're so bad but so good!

Downs

- After walking up Snowdon I developed a horrible raspy cough (I blame all the cold and rain) and this morning I woke up with a really sore throat so I'm having a sofa day.

- Feeling so skint at the moment! All I really really want is to be able to go away somewhere hot in September but I don't know if we'll be able to afford it. Why is the UK so wet!?
