equestrian style

I don't know what it is but I seem to have gone a little horse mad lately. I haven't ridden since I was much younger, infact last time I rode was on a trekking weekend with my mum when she fell off her horse and it trod on her (thankfully only leaving bruises). It sounds daft but I was put off after that. Anyway recently (probably due to an over-exposure to period dramas) I've been edging to ride again and my lovely fiancé has booked us both in for a private lesson next week for my 21st Birthday eek! 


So in the meantime I've been obsessing  perusing over some horsey clothing.

I've already bought 1 and 3 as a pre-birthday treat to myself! I've been wanting a navy padded fur hood gilet for ages now, just for some extra warmth over a hoody and skinnies for uni etc but this superdry one is way out of my budget. I saw blatant copies in primark the other day, wish I'd got one now!

Probably won't be posting again til the new year now so Happy New Year everyone!

feeling festive

Please excuse the poor iphone photos. Just wanted to take a few photos of the christmassy preparations going on in my house :) I'm at my parents' house for the next three weeks now which is nice but strange not being in my own little house. The weather is surprisingly mild, the sun was out when me and my Dad went for a run this morning and it felt like spring! I'm loving doing a bit of festive baking, I made 53 christmas cupcakes on Monday for a family friend's birthday and I've just been finishing off my chocolate truffles which I make every year as gifts.

It was the work christmas 'do' on Saturday night at a fancy hotel so I decided a little glittery glamour was needed. I bought the dress at topshop the other day, I'd originally bought this one but in gold (it doesn't seem to be on the website anymore) but I decided I'd prefer something with longer sleeves so I swapped them. For some reason it reminds me of something an Irish dancer might wear, not that that particularly influenced my purchase haha. I wore it with a gold glittery belt from primark and a matching clutch you can just see in the background (sorry about the messy kitchen backdrop) and boring (but comfy) black M&S patent courts. I bought some AMAZING shoes from a shop called Garage Shoes in Meadowhall , they're exactly the same as these ones but they're SO high I've decided to save them for indoor occasions only - atleast until I learn to walk in them!


The rest of my weekend was spent nursing a hangover and playing my first ever game on the xbox - Viva Pinata. It's pretty addictive so now there's two of us fighting over the xbox!

As my birthday is just two weeks after christmas, this wishlist is a bit of both really. Some of it's pretty standard stuff but I think my favourite two items are the pumps and the sewing basket. I already know that my godmother is getting me a sewing basket for my birthday so I just hope it's one a little like this. With me turning 21 this time I've become a bit obsessed with the traditional 'key to the door' idea. I have a gold key necklace I'm going to wear on my actual birthday and I just think these pumps would be a nice gift to receive. 

What's on your Christmas wishlist this year? Does anyone else have a birthday right next to Christmas and wish there wasn't just one time of year you can ask for things you want?

If you're reading this then welcome to my new blog! I started one a while ago but I didn't keep it up as I just wasn't in the right place at the time but here I am giving it another go. 


I love reading blogs, mostly ones about fashion and beauty so I think it's time I gave something back to the blogging world! I hope you find my posts interesting and perhaps even a little inspiring. I'm not sure what I'm going to write about at the moment - I have so much to say. Expect a little beauty and a little fashion with some diet, fitness, craft and baking for good measure. Oh and probably a fair bit of rambling <3
